There are thousands of Sales Jobs available throughout Australia for job seekers to apply for with many different and varied working condition on offer. A Sales Job can be on a full time, part time, casual or commission basis.

With much more flexible shopping hours now than ever before most sales staff are required to work different shifts to cover weekends or late night shopping. There are many different fields of sales jobs whether it be in retail, car or telephone sales. There are many sales jobs throughout Australia advertised which pay on commission only, most people should be skeptical of a lot of these companies as wages can be very poor and you could be required to do door to door sales. So before applying for sales jobs it is important to make sure your totally aware of the conditions of employment. Some companies will pay a set wage and pay a bonus if staff or individuals reach sales targets.

Qualifications are generally not essential when pursuing a sales job as on the job training is usually provided by most employers. When applying for other sales jobs some companies prefer some kind of previous sales experience but most are willing to train suitable staff. Staff are expected to learn quickly about the products they're required to sell to people. Most sales people are required to work as part of a team so applicants must usually be friendly and easy going as dealing with people is part of a sales job. A lot of times staff will be required to deal with difficult customers. Depending on the place of employment within a company there is usually room for advancement from salesman/woman to Sales Manager within larger organizations in particular. Job seekers must be very well presented as your dealing directly with the public and most employers want staff to be presentable.

There are some courses available for potential sales staff which deals with customer service, if you are interested in any training courses which may help you achieve employment you can check out your nearest Tafe college.

Sales jobs are advertised in a variety of ways whether that be in the newspaper, centrelink office, online jobs or on the company’s website. I would suggest anyone who is really interested in sales work to approach potential employers directly as most large employers will get you to fill out an application form and when positions become available they will refer to these applications. As mentioned door knocking potential employers is the best way to find most sales jobs as you can leave an immediate impression on an employer and if there are vacancies and you knock at the right time you may gain employment immediately. Telephone sales jobs are not for everyone as a lot of people who get called can be extremely rude so to take up one of these positions you must be thick skinned. As mentioned be very wary of sales jobs who pay only commission as there are literally advertisements every day in your local paper. It is much better to find a sales job that pays a retainer and bonus's if you hit sales targets.

Sales jobs can be an exciting profession, as you will get to meet all types of people and meet different people every day. Also shift work is available in most large retail stores and this suits lots of potential job seekers. If you are looking at getting into retail sales then be warned you will spend most of your working time on your feet.

Salaries can vary greatly within the sales industry so it's important when applying for work to know the salary and conditions of employment as some sales jobs can barely make ends meet.
